What’s Next After Don’t Ask Don’t Tell?

Now that gays can serve openly in the military it is time we focus on more of the issues facing gays in America. The most obvious issue is gay marriage. After this piece falls in many of the issues such as healthcare for same sex couples and their families, federal benefits for gay couples, and family rights will be addressed. Adoption is another issue that needs to be addressed. Gays should be allowed to have families.

Let’s go back to the military. Now that gays can serve openly their partners and families should receive equal benefits. They should be allowed to access the healthcare, base amenities and resources, and dependent pay. Support groups for families of service members should be open to same sex families. we should not sit back and say we accomplished ending Don’t ask Don’t Tell, we are done. We are far from done.
